Bonjour loves!
Time is flying by and it’s so hard to believe that this year is practically over. I have to say that I have been loving every second of living in France and I’ve been able to experience so many incredible things in just a few short months.
When I was a little girl, I told myself I would live in New York, LA and Paris at some point in my life, and I’m proud to say that I’ve officially called all three of those magical cities home now.
Paris is, by far, my favorite.
Living in Paris has been the best decision I’ve made in my life, and I have loved living abroad and immersing myself in a very different culture. Last weekend, I had a friend visiting me for a few days, so we decided to treat ourselves to a fun experience and rent a fancy quintessential Paris apartment instead of crashing in my small studio.
Cobblestone Paris graciously welcomed us into a stunning one-bedroom apartment on the third floor of a classic Haussmann building, and I wanted to share my experience with all of you!
We were greeted by David, who was bursting with information about Paris, which I can imagine would be very helpful to a newbie tourist. Cobblestone Paris offers a few beautiful furnished apartments to pick from, and I’m so glad we went with this one.
The “Charme du Marais” apartment is in a fantastic location, steps away from the Etienne Marcel Metro stop in a vibrant, hip neighborhood. The building is incredibly secure–you’ll actually use a hefty set of keys to enter and exit out of the numerous doors just to get in and out of the apartment itself, so safety is certainly paramount here.
The decor is stylish and feminine, complete with a soft color palette and a sparkling chandelier or two. It oozes glamour and I felt right at home!
The sofa unfolds into a full-size bed and the master bedroom is quite inviting, as well, with a closet to hang up your clothes, and all of the amenities (extra pillows, blankets, towels, etc.) to make your stay comfortable.
The kitchen is quite magnificent for Paris standards, and had all of the bells and whistles I’ve been missing in my own small studio apartment. I loved that the rental came stocked with plenty of Paris-themed DVDs (“Midnight in Paris”, “Amelie”, “Before Sunset”, to name a few) to watch, which was a fun touch to make it really feel like home.
There was even a washer/dryer in the apartment, which made for a comfortable and convenient luxury during our stay. If only every day could feel so glamorous!
Inspired by our stunning kitchen, I decided to host a small dinner party one night, and invited my favorite girls to join me in celebrating the holidays in this glamorous city. I picked up all of the ingredients in the morning at nearby shops and whipped together a fresh vegetable lasagna and roasted garlic potatoes.
Of course, we had to serve an epic cheese board with a baguette and plenty of sweets, surrounded by fresh market roses and festive decorations to get into the spirit of the season!
The best part of the stunning apartment was certainly the wraparound balcony which made for amazing photo opps that I think I will cherish forever. The vibe couldn’t be more perfect for a girl living out her Parisian dreams!
I can’t wait to show my (future) children these photos one day and tell them about that time when their mom boldly moved to Paris on her own, not knowing a soul (or the language) and had the best time of her life!
After all, life is short–follow your heart and do more of what makes you happy. For me, it was Paris, and I couldn’t have asked for a more magical experience.
Thank you, Cobblestone Paris, for letting me stay at your dreamy property.
