Last night goes down in history as a lovely, memorable moment in LA fashion industry history. An intimate group of top editors, stylists, publicists and designers gathered at Eveleigh to toast one of our own–Melissa Magsaysay, on her fabulous new book, City of Style, at Eveleigh, hosted by MAC Cosmetics.
As a former intern of Missy’s from her days as the west coast market editor at WWD, I couldn’t be prouder of her inspiring achievements, and I’ve long looked up to her throughout my career.
The book presents a well-documented analysis of Angeleno style, covering glamour girls to bohemian hippie chic, and everything in between. It’s a solid mix of historical research with vibrant street style photos, and, of course, some chic style tips from the accomplished journalist herself.
The crowd couldn’t be better (I had the best seat in the house, in my opinion), wedged in between favorites George Kotsiopoulos, Emily and Meritt of Current/Elliott, as well as Missy and her husband, Corey. Other stylish taste makers that came out included Corey Lynn Calter, Kevan Hall, Magda Berliner, Brenna Egan of Refinery 29, Jen Weinberg of Glamour, Elise Loehnen and many more. What a special celebration!
Congrats Missy!
XOXO
