I skipped over to The London West Hollywood Hotel yesterday afternoon for yet another fabulous Oscars suite experience, and was immediately enamored with the hotel before I even stepped foot inside of the suite.
Not only is it the home of Gordon Ramsay’s famous restaurant, but every inch of the decor is chic, modern and undoubtedly stylish. L.A.’s smattering of trendy hotels range from historical charm (a la Chateau Marmont) to old-school opulence (The Beverly Regent Wilshire), but I never really identified with either style.
I was so impressed with the look of the lobby, I made a mental note that the venue just might fit the bill for my future wedding one day (errr…TBD at a much later date.)
Anyway, I stopped into the Stuart Weitzman suite and checked out the gorgeous display of red carpet collection shoes. Actresses Perrey Reeves and Emanuelle Chiriqui were also there, being outfitted for the weekend, which made for a more entertaining experience.
I happen to own at least ten pairs of Stuart Weitzman shoes myself, so it was a treat to interview the man himself. Despite having just flown in from Spain, the shoe guru (and ping pong advocate!) was exceedingly friendly, warm and incredibly down-to-earth.
Ushering in well over 700 styles a year (!!!) and positioning himself in an extremely comfortable price range of designer shoes (around $300+), it’s clear that Weitzman is a man with a plan and who is reaping the benefits of his smart strategy.
As a treat, Weitzman offered chocolates molded in the shape of high heels.
Does he know women well, or what?
