This week I attended the opening day of the Hermès exhibition in Paris at Le Carreau du Temple and got an up-close-and-personal look at the craftsmanship that goes into the iconic luxury brand. The venue housed skilled craftspeople at different stations demonstrating their areas of expertise, from leather makers and silk engravers to silk printers and porcelain painters.
Not surprisingly, the exhibit drew a sizable crowd, of all ages and backgrounds, which goes to show you that this posh French fashion house transcends all generations and language barriers.
The crowds made it pretty hard for me to get the inside scoop (I’m too short, so I really couldn’t see a thing), and everything was spoken in French, of course.
I did snap some fun photos and touched every gorgeous textile I could get my little paws on, though!
Now, who wants to buy me a Birkin bag? Taupe and royal blue are my colors of choice, in case anyone is wondering. 🙂
xx Jenn
