Taking San Francisco by Storm

in FASHION, TRAVEL on 11/06/19

I recently popped up to San Francisco for a quick trip, and wanted to share some of the highlights I experience in less than 48 hours. I attended a conference for a full day, so my free time was limited, but here’s what I squeezed in for fun…and I’m so glad I did!

RENT THE RUNWAY SAN FRANCISCO

If you’re a diehard Rent the Runway member like me, you will need to experience the SF store at some time in your membership lifetime. Their flagship store trumps them all, and I just about died and went to RTR heaven when I stepped into the spacious shop. First of all, it’s two floors and it’s equipped with TONS of fitting rooms and scanners, which is a big deal for this L.A. girl who is currently suffering with our lack of everything in our dismal L.A. pop-up location at West Elm. There are racks upon racks of clothes to pick from, a beauty bar stocked with Dyson hair tools for touch-ups, a coffee bear and co-working space, as well. Needless to say, I made it to the store twice in two days, and believe that it was time well spent.

If you’ve been wanting to try RTR, use code JCHAN50 for 50% off your first month of Unlimited! Thank me later.

PICNIC AT ALAMO SQUARE PARK

One of my best friends lives in SF now, and she’s also a former Miss San Francisco, which is a pretty big deal, TBH. Leave it to Liz to plan a picturesque sunset picnic for us atop Alamo Square Park, complete with incredible sushi takeout and homemade cheesecake from her kitchen. She’s the best. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and found a quaint corner of the park to settle in and take in the scenery.

DINNER AT WAYFARE TAVERN

My one and only more formalized meal in the city was at Wayfare Tavern, and it’s now my new favorite spot in the city. The cozy decor reminded me of New York City (where Liz and I both have spent time living in the West Village), and the food was spectacular. We shared their famous fried chicken and mac & cheese, and had to indulge in their donuts, too. Let’s just say this epic meal will not be forgotten anytime soon, and those donuts are out of this world. If you’re ever in SF, you must get yourself a reservation here! It’s charming in every way. They even rushed out the food so that we could hurry out to the Usher concert in time. Big points.

And that’s a wrap! Thanks for the fun, SF!

I’ll be back soon.

xx
