For those of you that didn’t know, I’ve spent my summer down in San Diego for a change of scenery–in more ways than one. It was a mini detox from city living–to refresh, renew and re-center myself, to take risks, to explore my creative talents and to challenge my strengths. I learned more of who I am and what I want, and discovered that some things and some people simply aren’t what they seem. And I’m at peace with that.
In the end, it was a break for (and from) a lot of things, and I’m so beyond thankful for my amazing friends who reliably offered their support, love and laughter during this journey. It’s come to an end, and I look towards the fall with so much anticipation and positivity after all of this.
I’m packing my car this morning to head back to L.A. for good (and oh-so-excited about it!), and spent my last day yesterday in beautiful Coronado. The PR folks of the city graciously set me up on a luxurious spa day at the lovely Loews Coronado Bay Resort and the ultra fabulous Hotel Del Coronado, and it was truly the perfect ending to this chapter.
I enjoyed an amazing 80-minute signature Pacific Facial Ritual at Loews and my skin has never felt better. After way too much sun exposure and traveling, my skin was feeling less than squeaky clean and needed some R&R. My aesthetician, Patty, did the trick. A glycolic peel, lip and eye refresher, exfoliation and hand and foot massage worked magic on my skin–and my spirit. I’m glowing now, I really am. And it’s not just because I’m going home soon.
The Hotel del Coronado is a magical place for me. It always has been. I used to stay here with my family when I was younger and never wanted to leave. I remembered why yesterday. It remains one of my favorite places in the world. It never loses its historical grandiose charm, and going back there yesterday sent my soul into a whole other free-spirited, relaxed, charmed place that I almost forgot about. My 50-minute signature massage was splendid–as was the private pool and gorgeous sandy beach that I enjoyed afterwards. Below are some photos of my day–it’s one that I’ll never forget.
Thank you, San Diego for the sunshine. This city girl is heading back to Lalaland!
